Before you arrive

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU PLAN YOUR VISIT TO JAMESMONT RANCH

DOWNLOAD DIRECTIONS

Make sure you download the directions to Jamesmont Ranch, have them in hand when you are driving up here and watch the mile markers. Most GPS systems have the roads mixed up and will get you lost.

CELL PHONE AND INTERNET SERVICE

There is only AT&T cell phone service out here, but once you arrive you will have wireless internet access also.

GUEST ACCESS

Guests have access to the entire upstairs (bedroom, bathroom and living room), downstairs living room, dining room and all outdoor decks and surrounding areas.

MEALS AND MENUS

Continental European style breakfast is included each morning of your stay. Because of our remote location we also offer a two course breakfast (in lieu of the continental breakfast), box lunches or picnic baskets to take on your day trip, and a three or four course dinner at additional cost. You can find our menus hereIf you are interested in exploring our menu options let us know immediately so we can plan the menu with you appropriately. Because of our remote location most meals need to be ordered 24 to 48 hours in advance.

NO KITCHEN ACCESS

As we cook for 70% of our guests, sanitation and food safety is of the utmost importance, which is why we don’t offer guests kitchen access. Not that anyone would cross contaminate on purpose, it’s just a risk we are not willing to take. Our guests safety is our number one concern. We are more than happy to prepare a space for medications, beer or wine if previously arranged.

PAYMENT

We realize that some people do not like to use cash to pay for services so we have joined with Square so that we can accept credit card payments securely from our guests. Square utilizes a highly encrypted process that is currently being used by Starbucks. Actually Starbucks is using Square in its “mobile wallet” technology.

AREA RESTAURANTS

If you prefer to eat dinner before you arrive, there are some very good restaurants in Carmel Valley Village on your way up here. Let us know if you need some suggestions on where to eat. We’ll be happy to help you out! If you love wine tasting, all of the wineries have their tasting rooms in Carmel Valley Village which is 25 minutes from our home.  Also, there are some really wonderful hiking places very close by, or within a 30 minute drive. Of course, there is always Carmel, the beaches and Point Lobos Reserve to visit.

Besides restaurants, there are a multitude of other things to do in Carmel Valley and Big Sur including nearby entertainment, hiking and sightseeing.
